In the census of 2001, 71.15% of these seven and a half million inhabitants were ethnic group as the white race (classified as White British(59.79%), White Irish (3.07%) or "other whites"(8.29%) 12.09% as Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi or" Other Asian"(mostly from Sri Lanka, Saudi and other ethnic groups in South Asia), 10.91% of black (5.28 as black African and black Caribbean 4.79%, 0.84% as "other blacks"), 3.15% are of mixed race. 1.12% as Chinese and 1.58% (mostly from the Philippines, Japan and Vietnam). 21.8% of citizens were born outside the European Union. the Irish are the largest group of people living in London, foreign born, about two hundred thousand (200,000) .
The major religious groups are Christian (58.2%), agnostics (15.8%), Muslim (7.2%), Hindu (4.1%) and Jews (2.1%)
In January 2005, a survey of ethnic groups in London and estimated that more thanthree hundred (300) spoken andfifty (50) foreign communities with a population of over 10,000 people in this city.
